Sid is still a conversationalist

Yes he is! Now, all the same in English too. Jotting down some comic conversations.

Some profound discoveries from Shri Shri Siddhanth:

* TV programs have ads while CDs don't. Errr, yes CDs do have ads but only those anti-smoking ads.
So each time that "Smoking kills" ad comes on TV, my son asks, "Which movie?"

* With DVD-Player, we can pause a movie for natural breaks. But what if it's a favorite show on a TV channel? Easy, we can press the Mute button.

* The cows who give us milk are all sister cows and those who don't are brother cows.

* Mosques are built to use the loudspeakers. God, spare this child.

Some silly conversations:

Me: Why didn't you finish your tiffin box today?
Sid: That's because adinde taste korchu horrible aayirinnu. (That's because it tasted a bit horrible.)
Me (wide-eyed): Endu aayirinnu? (It tasted what?)
Sid (thinking I didn't get the meaning of it): Enikyu adinde taste ishtamaayilla. I didn't like its taste.
=======================
Sid (in a spirit of knowing English): Amme, enne kalikyaan let cheiyo? Can't translate this.
Me: :-X
=======================
Guess what does he call the two support wheels of his cycle? Those are "Stabilizers."
======================
Some English words that he uses frequently:
Pretend
Forgotten
Enikyu know aanu (I know that)
Njaan think cheyunnu (I think that...)
Alright (in exactly that US accent)
Oh dear!
Keep noku (Keep looking)
Sparkling
That's silly! OR Silly me! OR Silly Amma!
Oh goody!!! :D

I think that's it for now. Got loads more... Will keep updating.

Sid's 1st yearbook - 2015-16

I blinked my eye and a year had gone by... Oh my, what a spectacular year...! My little Sid's first year in school.

Some days in school were delightful. And some days were literally pushed to end. Celebration days were always welcome. Whatsoever!

I happened to ask him which he likes more: his class or the day care. For which he replied: Day care. Because that's when mumma comes to pick me up. Awwww...

Here's presenting an yearbook with all the school (and related) photos.

1st day to school:

This smile faded off once he reached the school.
My cute little Sid

Rakshabandhan:

He got his first set of sisters --- Twins. Chinmayee and Bhramari.

Krishnaashtami:

The gopis are again Chinmayee and Bhramari. Present relationship status: It's complicated!

Mother's day out:

So, the mothers had to come in ethnic wear. Forgot to take a mumma-son photo. However, here's a cute video:

Winter play:

Fancy dress competition:

Dr. Siddhanth, at your service!

Diwali mela:

Where I got a chance to put up my stall. :)

Treasure Hunt race:

Sid won the 1st prize.

Republic day:

Daddy's little Bhagat Singh!

Annual function dance:

Boy, it was a grand one. And Sid performed like a rockstar.
Kudos!

His performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l67yBUF5nOw&feature=youtu.be

1st stitch:

Yes. We didn't miss this. We had a tiff with a notorious kid at school. We got pushed, we got hit on the back of our head, we got stitched, we got healed. And, we didn't waste our precious tears for any of these. We only cry for significant stuff, like who should press the lift button, who should drop him to school, and so on.

Recitation

Random nursery rhymes

Misc: Somehow, I liked his typical Sid expression in this photo. Amidst the girls.

Pool fun

Towards the end of the year:

And, last but not the least -

Year end party:

Cheers to the year. Thanks God for the wonderful year.

Dance, fun, and a new gang!

Life never stops to surprise you. In amongst my busy schedule of work, meetings, cooking, and daily chores, I found a haven of laughter and fun.

It was a usual evening when Sid was cycling in the basement of our apartment when my new acquaintance (Shruti) told me about a thiruvadirakali dance competition which she was a part of. Informally, she invited me to participate. Dance is my all-time-favorite-hobby, so I grabbed this chance with both my hands. I knew it was going to be difficult --- increased workload, no backup for Sid --- but I still pushed myself in. And thank God I did; how else would I have got such wonderful moments and friends!

Sid couldn't thank me more for opting in for this. He gained friends whom he longed for. Both sid and I would finish all our chores and be ready to go to practise. During the practice sessions, he would either be busy with his playmates (Nilanjana chechy and Krishna chechy), or bugging us in the middle of our dance steps. He even learnt a few of the steps himself.
The practice sessions were full of cherishing laughter and giggles, silly gossips and discussions, and some actual practice too. We would discuss anything and everything under the sun. The discussion topics were interesting too --- dance steps, dance costumes, dance jewelry, dance teacher, dance teacher's attitude, dance teacher's health, our health, our pregnancies and deliveries, our kids, our husbands, omg... what not! We even spent an entire day discussing what should be our lunch on the D-day. So, we finally zeroed in on pulav. :D:D:D (which was yummm!)
So, the D-day was on 28th February, 2016. The green room was a vacant party hall. And, with the help of one-another, we transformed ourselves to beautiful swans looking all similar and off we went to the competition.
It was indeed a tough competition. There were 6 teams – all well practiced and groomed up. We got the third prize (although we had dreamed/expected of 1st). Nevertheless, we cheered ourselves up for getting a prize at the first place. We would not have felt bad if we didn't get any prize because we all had gained such beautiful moments and friendship in the past few days that is definitely above the material prizes.
Here's thanking each one of the gang members for their company. Just for records --- Rashmi, Rekha, Radhika, Shrila, Malathy, Karunya, Smitha, Suchitra, and last-but-not-the-least, Shruti. Cheers to all of us!
